IICS
conducted its Annual Sports Day for 2016-17 on 27th January 2017.
The Chief Guest of the function was the CEO, Lt.General Arjun Ray. The Managing
Trustee Mrs. Sarojini Rao, the Vice Principal Mrs. Selina Krishnan,
Principal of IICS Mrs. Sujaya Lakshmi, teachers, and the students of Indus
International School and IICS were also present.
The
programme started with March Past led by the school Head Boy Junaid Khan, he
was followed by students from each of the four houses – Tungabhadra, Kaveri, Arkavathy
& Krishna. Aspiring riders with their horses proudly
displayed “The Flag March”. The event was followed with Oath taking by the
School Sports Captain Tabasum Sultana, lighting of the torch by Achievers
(listed at Appendix I), the Rhythmic performances of the drill by students of
Grade 1 to 5, Show Jumping, Inter House
Sprints, Novelty Races by Grade 1-5 students and Teacher races.
The
Managing Trustee Mrs Sarojini Rao in her address emphasized on the importance
of participation in Sports. She also mentioned about the positive change in
Academic rigor and Teacher development, which was evident in IICS under the
leadership of Mrs Sujayalakshmi Sheshu, Principal IICS.
Next,
the Chief Guest, CEO, Lt. General Arjun
Ray addressed the gathering and once again motivated everyone to take sports
seriously while elaborating on the importance of Sports. He also appreciated
the display of culture along with the Sports events, which is important in the
overall development of the child.
This
was followed by the distribution of Prizes and Trophies. List of winners is
placed at Appendix II.
The
Sports Day function concluded with the Vote of Thanks by the school head girl
Chandana Yukta followed by the National Anthem.
